Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the United States, in partnership with the European Union, had long planned to use Ukraine to provoke Russia.
This came in response to statements by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during the Munich conference, and Zakharova said that the United States and the European Union had been systematically planning the possibility of exploiting Ukraine in order to provoke Russia and fabricate justifications for imposing sanctions against it, from 2021 until crisis special operation of Ukraine.
Zakharova added via Telegram that the European Union included her name on the list of individuals subject to Western sanctions at the request of the United States in late 2021, noting that these sanctions had been formulated.
Zakharova pointed out that the Western plan is aimed at fabricating excuses for the deployment of NATO forces on the territory of Ukraine and tightening the screws on Russia.
