The White House announced that the United States is on track to reach historic levels of oil production next year.
“We are on track to produce more oil at home next year to reach historic levels,” White House strategic communications coordinator John Kirby told CNN.
He added that US President Joe Biden “looked forward to discussing the issue of oil production with world leaders.”
This comes against the backdrop of Biden’s tour of the Middle East, during which he will visit Israel, the West Bank and Saudi Arabia.
