US President Joe Biden plans to discuss Ukraine and Taiwan with Chinese President Xi Jinping, said John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the US National Security Council.
“We’re still waiting for that call, probably this week,” Kirby said.
He stressed that the leaders will have many topics to discuss, including the situation in Taiwan and Ukraine.
Earlier, Biden announced his intention to hold telephone conversations with Xi Jinping in the next ten days.
