U.S. police said the gunman killed two people and wounded four others, including three police officers, before committing suicide Saturday night in the Dallas-Fort Worth region of Texas in the south of the country.
All those injured in the residential area shooting sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover, Hultom City Police Officer Matt Spellan said Sunday morning.
Spilan stated that police returned fire after being attacked when they responded to a report of gunshots at the house at around 6:45 p.m.
One policeman was wounded in the leg, and two more policemen were wounded in the arms. The suspect died from his injuries, apparently by shooting himself.

Spillane indicated that the Texas Rangers, the state’s elite police force, would take over the investigation, and the motive for the shooting is not yet clear.
The woman was found dead inside the house and the man was found dead outside. Police Sergeant Rick Alexander said late Saturday night that the adult woman who originally called 911 was hit, adding that the suspect was found with a “military rifle” and a handgun.
