In a report based on U.S. Treasury Department data tracked by its reporting arm, Al-Eqtisadiah said that Saudi investment in U.S. Treasury bills and bonds declined to $119.7 billion (448.9 billion rials) at the end of December 2022 by compared to $121.4 billion. billion (455.3 billion rials) at the end of November, down 1.4% from last year, equivalent to about $1.7 billion.

Al-Ektisadiya pointed out that Saudi Arabia’s investment in US Treasury bonds at the end of December was the lowest in six months (that is, since June 2022), amounting to $119.2 billion at the end of December.

The Al-Eqtisadiah report said that Saudi Arabia’s balance of US Treasuries and U.S. bills increased by 0.6% ($0.7 billion) year-on-year by the end of December 2022 compared to its balance at the end of December 2021. 119 billion dollars.

According to Al-Eqtisadiah, Saudi Arabia’s investment in US Treasuries was spread out at $106.5 billion in long-term bonds, accounting for 89% of the total, and about $13.2 billion in short-term bonds, accounting for 11% of the total. amounts.

According to the data, Saudi Arabia ranks 16th among the largest investors in US Treasury bonds and bills, Al-Eqtisadiah reported.
