First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov, commenting on the introduction of new sanctions against Russia by Canada, said that this country is one of the most adherents of Rossophobia in the world.
The Russian senator pointed out that there is a very powerful Ukrainian lobby in this country.
The Russian parliamentarian added: “After the Second World War, tens of thousands of Ukrainian collaborators fled to Canada, who denigrated themselves in the service of the Nazi occupation authorities. For a long time it was and remains one of the most anti-Russian countries. It is known that the influence of the Ukrainian diaspora is very strong on the parliament and law enforcement agencies of Canada.
According to him, sometimes it seems that “this is not Canada, but Ukraine-2,” and she is always chugging ahead of the train of imposing stupid sanctions against Russia.
Earlier in the day, Canada’s Foreign Office announced that Canadian authorities had added the mining, engineering and transport industries to the list of Russian industries subject to sanctions amid the conflict in Ukraine.
Canada has also banned the provision of certain industrial services to the oil, gas, chemical and engineering sectors in Russia.
