Russian Foreign Ministry on the West’s oil plans against Russia: an element of psychological warfare

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabko called the West’s plans to set a ceiling on the price of oil exported from Russia another element of psychological warfare.

“This is another element of psychological warfare, another element of hybrid warfare in the fiery imagination of those who unleashed it, a war to destroy Russia. But these plans will not come true,” a Russian official told reporters on Thursday.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia added that attempts to regulate world markets are becoming the core of Western policy, and stated that “the attempts of the West to regulate markets and impose their ideas on the markets are becoming the core of the policy of the Western group. It does a lot of harm.”

Earlier, another Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that the idea of the West to limit the price of Russian oil is just another political decision that will lead to a market failure and higher prices.

The leaders of the G7 countries at the last summit agreed to put an end to the price of imported Russian oil in the future in order to reduce Russia’s financial income.
