Russian Finance Minister: lifting Western restrictions on Russia will lead to lower world energy and food prices

Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov considered that the lifting of restrictions imposed by the West on Russia against the background of the military operation in Ukraine would lead to a decrease in world prices for energy and food products.

When asked about his attitude to Gazprom’s proposal to sell liquefied gas for rubles, Siluanov replied: “We support him in every possible way.”

The Minister of Finance called for the maximum expansion of the practice of paying for exported goods in rubles.

Answering the question about what goods, except for pipeline gas, payment for which can be converted into rubles in the near future, he said: “We are in favor of converting any foreign trade operations into Russian currency. under the current conditions, this is fair.”

He pointed out that the purchase of currency, according to the law on the budget, in case of its extension, should be carried out in the currencies of friendly countries. The dollar and the euro are poisonous currencies for Russia.
