Andrei Guryev, head of the Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers, said Russia had overtaken the United States in the production of mineral fertilizers, taking second place in this area after China.
“Over the past ten years, we have increased production by 40%, or up to 55 million tons, and this applies to all types of fertilizers,” Guryev said today, Thursday, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He added: “We have surpassed the US and India in production and today we are the largest mineral fertilizer producer in the world after China. This is a very big achievement.”
