The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the attack by unknown militants on a gold mine owned by a private Chinese company Gold Cost Group in the Central African Republic.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia condemns the attack against a Chinese company and hopes those responsible will be quickly identified and punished.
Bombay Mayor Abel Machipta said earlier that nine Chinese were killed and two wounded in an armed attack on a gold mine owned by the Chinese Gold Coast mining company in the city of Chingbolu in Central Africa.
For his part, Chinese President Xi Jinping demanded that those responsible for the terrorist attack against Chinese citizens be punished strictly and in accordance with the law.
