Russia and Egypt introduce the dollar as a new currency!

Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Financial Markets, pointed out that Russia and Egypt are conducting operations in national currencies, and Moscow is negotiating with Abu Dhabi on this matter.

“We have mutual deals with Egypt in two national currencies, and we are negotiating with the UAE (on this issue),” Aksakov said in an interview with RT as part of the Newsmaker program on the sidelines of his participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

He added that the share of the dollar in international currency trading has fallen from 70% to 60% in two years, and he expects many countries to switch to common (national) currencies due to unfair US sanctions policy.

The Russian parliamentarian also noted that 70% of Russia’s transactions with Iran are carried out in two national currencies.

Regarding the date of the launch of the digital ruble, Aksakov said: “We adopted the law on the digital ruble in the first reading, and this currency will appear in the second half of this year,” adding that “we can help Arab and friendly countries by creating digital national currencies.”
