The National Seismological Center of Chile said that an earthquake measuring 5.5 on the seismic scale was recorded off the coast of the Chilean province of Antofagasta.
According to preliminary data, the shocks were recorded at 02:29 (9:29 Moscow time) at a depth of 36 km.
There were no reports of damage or casualties from the earthquake.
