Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that the export of agricultural products from Russia has recently increased several times.

Putin’s remarks came as he spoke with workers at the Tulazeldurmash plant, which specializes in various types of railcars, as the Russian president makes a field trip to the plant, located in the city of Tula, about 185 kilometers south of the Russian capital, Moscow.

The President of Russia said: “Exports (of agricultural products) have increased several times, while imports, on the contrary, have decreased.” He added that Russia is now exporting agricultural products and is fighting for markets.

In this regard, the head of Rosselkhoznadzor “Rosselkhoznadzor” Sergei Dankvert said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin that Russia, which is the largest exporter of grain, has now become the main supplier. meat to the world market.

According to a Russian official, meat exports in 2022 amounted to 650,000 tons, which exceeds imports. He said: “You can already say that Russia is the largest food producer. Today we are major grain exporters and major meat exporters because we exported 650,000 tons of meat for the first time.”
