Paris Saint-Germain reveal their position on signing Ronaldo

Rumors and speculation have returned around Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo during this summer’s transfers.

And the British newspaper The Times reported yesterday, Saturday, that the Portuguese star had filed a petition allowing him to leave Manchester United if he received an offer to do so this summer.

For its part, The Mirror newspaper revealed five possible directions for Ronaldo if he left United, and among them was the possibility of the Portuguese star moving to Paris Saint-Germain to play alongside his Argentine rival Lionel Messi.

But renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, an expert on football transfers, ruled out Ronaldo’s move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, writing on his Twitter account: “Ronaldo likes Erik ten Hag, United’s new manager, but he asked to leave because of his desire in making new deals.

He added: Manchester United are keeping Ronaldo because they want him to stay next season.

And he continued: “Jorge Mendez, Ronaldo’s agent, will try to transfer his client to another team, starting negotiations with several clubs again, but Paris Saint-Germain does not have the options available to Ronaldo.”

Ronaldo decided to return to United last summer, after an experience spanning three seasons at Juventus, to go through a modest season as a team and an average season individually, in which the Don scored 24 goals and went without a championship.

United finished sixth in the English Premier League, which means Ronaldo will not play in the Champions League next season if he continues to play at Oldafford Stadium.

It is worth noting that Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United expires at the end of the new season, in about a year.
