Minister of Finance’s speech ignites discussion on the true value of wealth at St. Petersburg Economic Forum

The speech of the Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov caused a wide resonance among the participants of the Russian Economic Dialogue at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

While the economic team of the Russian government discussed issues related to tax and investment strategy in Russia, the Russian minister said that “money is not the main thing in life”, which caused a state of amusement mixed with surprise among those present.

The intervention of the Russian minister came after Elvira Nabiullina, the head of the Russian Central Bank, pointed out the importance of adapting institutions and companies to the new reality in order to restructure the Russian economy, as she said: “It is not money that is needed to restructure the economy, but the adaptation of institutions.”

The forum will be held from June 14 to 17, 2023 and will discuss the main economic issues and challenges facing Russia, emerging markets and the world as a whole.

The forum is an effective platform for the exchange of views and experience between politicians, officials and representatives of the business sector from around the world, as it is held on the road, taking into account the rules of health prevention using modern digital technologies.
