President of the Lugansk People’s Republic Leonid Pasechnik said he expects to establish diplomatic relations with Syria in the near future.
He told Russian and foreign journalists during a press conference organized by the Russian Defense Ministry that the Syrian leadership had expressed its readiness to recognize the Luhansk People’s Republic. So, as soon as negotiations on this matter are completed, we will most likely begin to establish diplomatic relations.
He noted that Luhansk is very grateful to the leadership and people of Syria for their readiness to recognize the republic.
“For us, this is very important, because when we are recognized, we feel like full members of the international community,” he said.
