Al Ahly is back on the Egyptian League winning track with a 4-0 sweeping win over Futures today Tuesday in Round 24 after losing 2-3 to Smouha and drawing with El Gouna in the last two rounds.
As part of the Al Ahli quartet, Mohamed Magdy Afsha scored “two goals” in the 23rd and 45th minutes, Tunisian Ali Maaloul (42 from the penalty spot) and Ahmed Abdel Kader (59), who came on as a substitute.
This is Al Ahly’s first victory under their new Portuguese coach Ricardo Soares, who raised his tally to 48 points in third place, closing the gap on leaders Zamalek to 6 points, knowing that the Red Genie had two matches rescheduled.
On the other hand, Future’s balance was 39 points in fourth place.
