Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov joked with reporters during a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheith, reminding them of the West’s ban on taking pictures of him, which made them laugh.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on her Telegram channel that Lavrov addressed the third column of foreign journalists who entered his room for negotiations with the Secretary General of the Arab League, saying: “Guys, I heard that you should not accept my photographs”, noting that the hall burst into laughter.
Zakharova invited journalists to send the photographs to the US State Department, noting that they are “very concerned that we will use them for propaganda purposes. They could use them themselves.”
Earlier, Lavrov called attempts by Western representatives to prevent Russian partners from taking pictures with him and Russian President Vladimir Putin an obsession.
