Kirill Strimosov, deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the Kherson region, said that air defense systems shot down all 12 missiles that tried to hit the Antonovsky bridge.
Strimosov added: “Russian air defense shot down 12 missiles, they tried to hit the bridge again, but this did not happen, they were all shot down and fell into the Dnieper River.”
Ukrainian forces have recently stepped up their bombing of housing in the Kherson region. The city of Novaya Kakhovka suffered the most damage, where bombings using American HIMARS rockets blew up rock salt warehouses, destroyed many residential buildings, a market building and hospitals, and the bombing killed civilians and injured many others. The last blow was inflicted on the area of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.
