Juventus announced the termination of the contract with Ramsey

Juventus have reached an agreement with Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey to terminate his contract by mutual consent, the Turin giant announced on Tuesday.

Juventus tweeted: “Official. Termination of the contract binding Aaron Ramsey with Juventus by mutual agreement. All the best to Aaron Ramsey.”

Juventus have been trying since last season to negotiate with the Welshman to terminate his contract and get rid of his €7m annual salary, but talks between the two sides have failed, so the player has remained in his ranks, defending the Scottish colors of Rangers on loan from January until the end of the season.

Italian media reported on Tuesday that Juventus offered Ramsey two million euros in compensation, while the Welshman demanded four million.

In the end, they reached an agreement for three million euros.

The 31-year-old midfielder moved to the Old Lady in 2019 with a contract ending in 2023 as a free-playing player following his Arsenal tie, having defended his colors since 2009 in a career that included his loan spell at Nottingham . Forest and Cardiff City.

The Welshman failed to impose himself on the Turin giant, who suffered from a host of injuries that hit him hard and left him content to play just 69 games in the Juventus shirt, scoring three goals on six assists.

Ramsey is expected to return to the English Premier League to spend more time on the pitch, especially in light of his country’s participation in the World Cup final scheduled for later this year in Qatar.
