Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez expressed hope that there would be no problems with gas in the winter, announcing the extension of contracts with suppliers, including Russia.
“Our main suppliers are Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran. We are renewing expired contracts in a new period. We are trying to ensure the security of our supplies,” Donmez was quoted by A Haber TV channel, noting that “in Europe, access to gas is more important than price.”
“Our warehouses in Silivri are 82% full and we hope they will be full by the end of the year. We have 6 billion cubic meters of natural gas. I hope that we will not face such a problem as long as the suppliers comply with the shipment schedule,” the minister added.
