Hungarian Foreign Minister: Winds of global economic change are blowing from the east

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stressed that the winds of economic change in the world are blowing from the east, and it is necessary that the economies of the West and China move closer.

Speaking at the Transit public forum in Tehan, Szijjártó said: “We have never discriminated against companies on any geographic or political grounds, but supported everyone who could contribute to the development of the Hungarian economy.

He added: “It must be recognized that the global crisis has reinforced the belief that the winds of major transformation in the world economy are currently blowing from the east.”

The Hungarian Foreign Ministry recently announced that a Chinese battery manufacturer (Catel) will build its second plant in Europe in the Hungarian city of Debrecen, marking the largest investment in Hungary’s history.
