Exploring the Moscow Stock Exchange: Understanding Russia’s Financial Market

The Moscow Exchange indices rose today, Wednesday, in contrast to the Russian currency, the ruble, which fell against the US and European currencies.

By 16:30 Moscow time, the MICEX ruble stock index rose by 0.99% to 2707.81 points.

At the same time, the RTS ruble stock index rose by 0.38% to 1042.37 points, according to the Moscow Exchange.

The growth occurred after the fall recorded by the Moscow Exchange on Tuesday, when the main MICEX stock index closed trading at around 2681.25 points.

In the foreign exchange market, the dollar rose by 33 kopecks (normal = 100 kopecks) to 81.74 rubles, while the euro rose by 87.64 rubles.
