Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris revealed the details of his meeting with the North Korean leader and talked about the quality of the North Korean economy.
Sawiris added during a TV interview that he is the first businessman to meet with the leader of North Korea, commenting: During the dialogue between me and the leader of Korea, in his language, he is not dependent on one type of economy such as China’s, so it must be diversified. .

He added, “After the meeting, I was surprised by Kim Jong Lee’s invitation to dinner, which is something the North Korean leader has never done in his life.”
Sawiris has invested in North Korean communications for many years, in Koryo Link.
Orascom Telecom and Media announced in 2015 that it had lost control of its 75% stake in Koryo Link.
Orascom has decided to remove Koryolink from its consolidated financial statements to become a subsidiary instead of a subsidiary, as a result of the sanctions imposed on North Korea.
