Zelensky Raises Concerns Over Russia’s Long-Range Weapons, Calls for Equitable Support from the West

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it was the long-range weapons wielded by Russian forces that were preventing a Ukrainian attack, urging the West to provide him with the same.

“Without long-range weapons, not only is it difficult to carry out an offensive task, it is difficult to carry out a defensive operation. You defend your own land and cannot reach the appropriate distance to destroy the enemy. The enemy enjoys the advantage of the range and so on of weapons.

Zelensky indicated that he was negotiating with the United States on the supply of these weapons to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian counterattack began on June 4 last year in several directions south of Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Artemovsk, where the greatest focus of the strike fell on the Zaporozhye direction.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that expectations about the results of the Ukrainian counterattack were exaggerated.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Russian war correspondents on June 13, said that Ukrainian troops suffered heavy losses during the counteroffensive and did not succeed in any of the directions.
