The US Congress called on the Department of Defense to formulate and present a “comprehensive strategy” to counter hypersonic weapons.
The draft defense budget, approved by the relevant House and Senate committees, includes a request for the Pentagon to develop and submit a “comprehensive strategy” to counter hypersonic weapons.
And the FY 2023 Defense Budget Proposal stated: “The draft includes a clause requiring the Secretary of Defense to present to congressional defense committees a comprehensive strategy for using asymmetric capabilities to counter the threat of hypersonic missiles.”
