The Chinese representative at the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference confirmed that the United States is violating the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty by transferring them to third countries.
The representative of China noted that under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, “nuclear powers have committed themselves not to transfer these weapons, and other countries not to accept” such weapons.
“The US deployment of nuclear weapons and their emergency use by military aircraft is precisely the practice of transfer, which violates the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons,” he added.
The diplomat stressed that the emergence of nuclear weapons in the Asia-Pacific region would seriously undermine regional stability and increase the risks of nuclear confrontation, as well as directly affect China’s strategic interests.
