Bavarian PM warns of economic shock and chaos in case of energy crisis in Germany

The Prime Minister of the German state of Bavaria, Markus Söder, expressed concern about the gas situation in Germany.

In a statement to ARD TV, Soder warned against taking action amid a looming energy crisis and “the real chaos that Germany would face” if such a scenario materialised.

He fears that the quality of life of the middle class will deteriorate and the economy will “take a hit” from which it will not easily recover.

He stressed that helping the Ukrainian people is important. But we must first of all take care of our own population, the people of Germany, and we cannot allow Germany to fall into the abyss, with millions of people in poverty.
