Erdogan urged Lapid not to agree to the construction of new settlements and the preservation of the status of Al-Aqsa

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid to continue the policy of opposition to the construction of new settlements and maintaining the status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Turkish Anadolu agency reported that Erdogan and Lapid discussed bilateral relations and regional issues in a telephone conversation.

“Erdogan expressed his wish that the elections scheduled for November 1 will benefit the people of Israel,” she added.

And she added: “He expressed his country’s desire to continue the policy of not establishing new settlements and maintaining the status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the next phase leading up to the elections.”
