The 25-year-old German, who won Olympic gold in Tokyo in August 2021, had to undergo surgery due to a torn three lateral ligaments in his right ankle.

Previously, Zverev missed the Wimbledon Championships, the third Grand Slam tournament that took place from June 27 to July 10 last year, knowing he had competed in 27 consecutive major championships since 2015.

On the other hand, doubts surround the involvement of Serbian Novak Djokovic, world No. 6, who reached the final of the latest US Open, amid his failure to receive a coronavirus vaccine, which led to him being denied the Australian Open and deported from country in January last year.
