Zakharova: Moscow is worried about the obsession with the EU"Russian threat"

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow is concerned about the obsessive focus of the EU countries on the “Russian threat” with which they all justify.

Commenting on the joint statement of the EU group on the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, Zakharova added: “The authors of the statement focus on the Russian threat, which they all justify, causing serious concern. Thus, the foreign political failures of the West are covered up, which again puts anti-Russian foreign policy views above objectivity, nonproliferation and nuclear safety.

Zakharova pointed to the falsehood and hypocrisy of the West when it previously swore to respect the international legal framework in the nuclear field.

“Western countries are once again slipping into outright lies in their statements about the Russian threat to the security of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. This clearly contradicts the facts that we have repeatedly mentioned, including in the UN Security Council,” she said. .

Zakharova stressed that it is absolutely indisputable that the attacks on the station and the city of Energodar are carried out by Ukrainian armed groups on the orders of Kyiv. She said the bombings continued even as the EU delegates in Vienna were collecting signatures for their statement rather than cracking down on Volodymyr Zelensky’s regime.
