US President Joe Biden said his country will continue to work “closely” with the United Kingdom, especially on Ukraine.

Biden’s statement was made in a statement released after the resignation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, but without directly mentioning the issue.

“The United Kingdom and the United States are our closest friends and allies, and the special relationship between our two peoples remains strong and enduring,” Biden said.

“I look forward to continuing our close collaboration with the UK government, as well as our allies and partners around the world, on a range of priorities,” he added.

“This includes maintaining a strong unified approach in support of the Ukrainian people as they defend themselves,” Biden said.
