Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stressed that Washington’s deployment of the 101st Airborne Division in Romania, on the border with Ukraine, sharply aggravates the situation.
Vučić told Tangyong that Washington should consider Russia’s reaction before taking provocative military action that would result in direct confrontation, sparks of fire from all sides, in what could be described as a “loud storm.”
CBS reported that the United States had confirmed that the mission of the 101st Division, known in Romania as the “Screaming Eagles”, was training and not hostile.
Contrary to the assurances of the White House, the division commander announced the readiness of his forces to enter the territory of Ukraine if necessary.
Earlier, Washington’s representative to NATO Julian Smith confirmed that the alliance is committed to its position not to participate directly in the conflict in Ukraine.
According to the channel, the total strength of the division is 4.7 thousand servicemen.
