US Celebrates ICJ Ruling on Frozen Iranian Assets as a Major Triumph

The US viewed the decision of the International Court of Justice to reject Iran’s request for the release of its frozen assets as a “major victory” for itself.

This came in response to the decision of the International Court of Justice, which said it was not competent to consider Iran’s request for the release of its funds, while acknowledging that Washington “violated” the rights of the Iranians by freezing their assets.

“This is a great victory for the United States and for the victims of Iranian state-sponsored terrorism,” said Acting US State Department Legal Counsel Rich Fisek, who was present at the ruling in The Hague.
