UK expands sanctions list against Russia and Syria

Britain has expanded its list of anti-Russian and anti-Syrian sanctions, according to a statement posted on the website of the British government on Tuesday.

“42 new items have been added to the section on sanctions against Russia, and 5 items have been added to the section on sanctions against Syria,” the report says.

The sanctions list included, in particular, a number of Russian conservatives.

The sanctions include an asset freeze and a travel ban.

It is reported that after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, Western countries began to impose unprecedented sanctions against the Russian Federation.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said in previous statements that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy for the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy.
