The Turkish Defense Ministry has called on Iraqi authorities to “immediately bring those responsible” to justice for the attack, which it called “heinous” against its consulate in Mosul.
“We are waiting for the Iraqi authorities to immediately bring to justice those responsible for the heinous attack on our consulate in Mosul,” Turkish Anadolu news agency quoted the ministry as saying.
And the Turkish consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul said its building was blown up by four mortar rounds that landed near al-Hadbaa’s residential buildings.
She added that Consul Muhammad Koyok and consular staff were safe and had not been hit by rocket attacks.
