Turkey’s President Erdogan expresses unwavering support for Palestinians and mourns victims of Israeli attacks in Jenin

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today, Thursday, declared his country’s full solidarity with the Palestinians, calling for the mercy of those who died in the Israeli attacks on Jenin.

The Palestinian Ministry of Labor initially assessed the damage caused by the Israeli military operation to the city of Jenin and its refugee camp in the northern West Bank, as it documented the complete destruction of 300 houses and the partial destruction of about 500 houses.

For its part, the municipality of Jenin said that the Israeli army deliberately destroyed water and sewer networks and public facilities during the military operation, and confirmed that it was making every effort to operate the water networks and re-pump them.

And at dawn on Wednesday, the Israeli army announced the end of a two-day military operation in Jenin, in the northern West Bank, in which 12 Palestinians and an Israeli soldier were killed and houses and shops were destroyed in Jenin, and the displacement of people after Israeli forces launched at dawn on Monday an operation described as “the largest in 20 years” in the Jenin camp.

On the first day of the Israeli military operation, Palestinian activists posted a video clip on social media documenting the systematic destruction of a paved road by a bulldozer.

Palestinian sources said the Israeli army is trying to separate the Jenin camp from the surrounding area by bulldozing roads and building embankments.

Those sources added that part of the military operation is targeting Jenin’s infrastructure and its camp, and “there is a clear Israeli desire to take revenge on the camp.”
