Anas said after the match: “My opponent plays very hard, so I had to diversify my game. Also, the audience was very supportive, so I tried my best.”
Anas is aiming to reach the final of a major tournament for the third time in her career after reaching two major finals at Wimbledon and Flushing Meadows last year but never won the title.
Anas was disappointed with last year’s edition at Roland Garros when she was knocked out of the first round by Magda Lynette’s polka.
