Journalists Mistake Daniil Medvedev for Dmitry Medvedev

Journalists from the Times of India newspaper made a mistake by confusing Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev with Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, and he reacted.

Newspaper’s Twitter Mistake

The newspaper published a post on its official Twitter account about the final match of the US Open, in which Serbian Novak Djokovic played against Daniil Medvedev.

The tweet mistakenly mentioned Dmitry Medvedev, to which the politician replied: “Unfortunately, I did not play against Novak Djokovic.”

US Open Final Match

The Serb won in three sets (6-3), (7-6), (6-3) in a match that lasted 3 hours 18 minutes to claim his fourth US Open title and improve his record as the top player. Most Grand Slam titles won in the world history (24).

Dujokovic’s US Open victory put him at the top of the world rankings for the eighth time and also strengthened his record as the player to finish the year at the top of the rankings.

At the same time, Medvedev retained third place in the ATP rankings.

Notably, Medvedeva won the US Open in 2021, defeating Djokovic.
