Kommersant, citing financial experts, found out that Western clothing retailers that have suspended their activities in Russia will lose up to $800 million if they completely withdraw from the Russian market.

According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta interlocutors, these companies’ exposure to losses of between $760 million and $800 million is considered a “conservative” scenario, since the losses of these Western companies will increase if they fail to sell the remaining goods they have before leaving Russia and do not find settlements under store lease agreements with property owners.

The newspaper notes that from May to mid-July this year, property owners (shop owners) filed about 30 lawsuits for a total of 2.3 billion rubles.

According to the publication, the Swedish clothing company H&M, which announced yesterday that it will permanently close its stores in Russia, has already confirmed a loss of about $190 million, while the Spanish company Inditex is expected to record a loss of up to $300 million. dollars.
