The Pentagon announced the imminent training of the Kyiv forces on the systems "Patriot"

A senior Pentagon official said the US Department of Defense will soon begin training Ukrainian forces on the use of Patriot systems, as the training takes several months.

The official said, according to CNN, that the exercise would begin “very soon” and that the ministry was exploring “many options” regarding the country in which the exercise would take place.

He stressed that the US authorities are counting on reducing the training period, “so that it takes as short a time as possible,” but due to the complexity of the system, the case “will drag on for several months.”

He added that Ukraine would use Patriot missiles “to intercept missiles or aircraft that pose a threat to its population and forces.”

He continued: “We expect the system to be used as a defensive system” and said he did not know when the systems would be delivered to Kyiv.

He noted that there is no “magic formula” in the field of air defense and that the goal is to help Ukraine implement a “layered and integrated approach” to air defense.

He emphasized the firm position of Washington, according to which the United States will transfer the Patriot system to Ukraine, despite the statements of Russia.
