The flow of Russian gas to China reached a record level

Russian Gazprom deliveries of natural gas to China via the Power of Siberia route hit a record high yesterday, July 19, 2022, as shipments to the Chinese market exceeded contractual volumes.

The Russian company announced on its Telegram channel today, Monday, that China is increasing its daily purchases of Russian gas through the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, and on July 19, 2022, supplies reached a new historical record.

The Russian company added that natural gas supplies via the Power of Siberia route exceed the daily contracts signed with the Chinese side. She pointed out that gas supply operations are carried out under a long-term gas contract between Gazprom and the Chinese company CNPC.

The Power of Siberia is a gas pipeline designed to pump natural gas from the fields of the Russian Far East to China; deliveries through it to China began on December 2, 2019.
