The Egyptian Ministry of Military Production, in cooperation with the private sector, announced the delivery and production of 100 electric buses for the Arab Union of Land Transport and Tourism.
The Egyptian Minister of Military Production has indicated in media statements that the ministry is very interested in implementing various projects that contribute to supporting the directions of the state, especially projects to combat climate change, stressing that the Egyptian state cares about preserving the environment. by achieving sustainable development through green projects, including the production of buses. He added that the ministry has cooperated in this regard through a plant for the production and repair of armored vehicles with the national private sector enterprise, the transport company MCV. , for the production of the electric bus “SETIBUS” with a share of local production up to 60%, indicating that the participation took place. With (110) electric buses during the twenty-seventh session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change “COP27” in Egypt, which was held in Sharm El Sheikh last November and was a great and outstanding success, as for These electric buses were used to transport guests. The Minister of State for Military Production also stated that the Ministry will supply (100) MCV (C120E.V) SETIBUS electric buses to the Arab Union through the Armored Vehicles Production and Repair Plant (Factory 200 Military). for land transport and tourism, one of the companies associated with the Ministry of Transport. According to the technical specifications and the specified schedule, these buses will also be equipped with self-extinguishing devices for the engine. Minister Mohamed Salah explained that this cooperation is part of the Gosvoenprom strategy to participate in the implementation of the service on the transportation of citizens in a civilized, environmentally friendly way along the Ring Road under the project (BRT) and is in line with the directives of the political leadership to localize transport industries in Egypt, including the production of environmentally friendly electric buses, stressing that this joint cooperation represents a strengthening of the results of the climate change summit and represents one of the efforts made by the state to conserve the environment, fight the causes of pollution and pursue a public policy for the optimal use of its natural resources By using electrical energy as fuel for cars abundance instead of gasoline and diesel fuel, which has a positive effect on the national economy of the country and work on reducing import bills, as well as reducing the share of harmful emissions into the environment as a result of the use of fuel.
