The death toll from monkeypox in Germany exceeds 1,000.

The Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Disease Research has announced that the death toll from monkeypox in Germany has exceeded 1,000.

A report published by the institute indicated that data on 1,054 cases of infection with this virus were obtained from the federal states of Germany. According to the institute, the level of threat to the population is still limited.

Turkey’s Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced the country’s first human case of monkeypox.

The World Health Organization Committee on Emergency Situations previously recognized the emergency nature of the monkeypox outbreak, but did not agree that it was an emergency of international concern.
