Terrace vows not to visit Taiwan if he becomes UK prime minister

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has confirmed that she will not visit Taiwan if she becomes the country’s prime minister.

“No, I won’t,” she said during a campaign debate when a TV presenter asked if she would visit Taiwan if she became British prime minister.

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi visited Taipei last Tuesday evening and met with Taiwan’s chief of staff Tsai Ing-wen on Wednesday morning. This is the first visit by a speaker of the US House of Representatives to Taiwan since 1997.
