Swedish police said two people were injured in a shooting at a shopping center in the southern city of Malmö.
A police statement said the accident happened at the Emporia shopping center on Friday evening and the square was closed immediately.
Police confirmed the arrest of one person in connection with the incident.
She indicated that “the danger to the population has passed”, adding that police officers continue to work at the scene, where eyewitnesses are being questioned and data from surveillance cameras is being collected.
Police have asked people to refrain from visiting the mall for the time being, given the ongoing work at the site.
Police believe the incident is related to criminal activity.
