A source told Fox News that the federal tax investigation into Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, has reached a “critical stage.”
Prosecutors and Justice Department officials are investigating whether President Biden’s son will be charged with various tax violations and possible foreign pressure violations in addition to other charges, the source said, noting that Hunter Biden could face potential charges of perjury.
The source said the indictment has not yet been finalized, stressing that an investigation is underway.
Another source said the federal grand jury investigating Hunter Biden’s trade offenses completed its final term late last month without any charges being filed.
Hunter Biden has been under federal investigation since 2018 by Delaware Attorney General David Weiss, the attorney general appointed by former President Donald Trump.
