Schultz: the decision to legalize marijuana was difficult

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, when asked about the date of legalization of marijuana in the country, confirmed that this will happen “during the current legislative session.”

He recalled that these plans were included in the agreement on the formation of a government coalition.

He acknowledged that the decision was difficult and said: “Firstly, I have never smoked hashish … And secondly, I think that all drugs cause problems, and talk about how some of them are not harmful to health are not true. .”

He continued, “Also, I know some people, and that’s something that should be mentioned when we talk about the kind of things that have destroyed their brains by smoking and have developed serious psychological problems due to excessive smoking.”

However, he pointed out that such cases are not the majority: “We agreed that times are changing, and therefore we intend to do it. It must happen quickly,” he said.

German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann said the first bill to legalize marijuana in Germany could be passed this year.
