Russia’s stance on the Ukrainian conflict adheres to international legal standards, says Kremlin

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russia’s position on resolving the conflict in Ukraine is fully consistent with international law and the UN Charter.

Peskov told the Izvestia newspaper: “Russia’s position is clear enough…and this position is in line with international law and the UN Charter. We will defend our position.”

Moscow has repeatedly confirmed that it is ready for negotiations, but Kyiv banned the negotiations by special legislation.

And Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier that Russia is open to dialogue with everyone who wants peace, provided that the interests of all parties are taken into account.

He stressed that Moscow has never abandoned negotiations on Ukraine, unlike Kyiv.
