Russian National Team Seeks Victory in Central Asian Football Championship

The Football Federation of Tajikistan announced that the Russian team will take part in the championship of the Football Federation of Central Asia.

The press secretary of the Football Federation of Tajikistan Fereydun Salif told RIA Novosti that the Russian team will take part in the first championship of the Football Federation of Central Asia.

Member countries of this federation, Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan will take part in the tournament, and the organizers of the tournament plan to invite an Asian team.

Eight teams will be divided into two groups of four teams each, and each team will play at least three matches.
Group stage matches will be held in the cities of Tashkent and Bishkek, and the tournament will continue from June 9 to 21.

CAFA was established in June 2014 and is one of the five regional associations of the Asian Confederation.

The AFC also includes the countries of Southeast Asia, the East Asian Confederation, the South Asian Confederation, and the West Asian Football Confederation.
